Cygnet Folk Festival celebrates local and international music and culture
Tasmania’s 2025 Cygnet Folk Festival is being held from 10th to 12th January delivering its signature celebration of local and international music and culture to the Huon Valley.
This year’s program boasts more than 400 performers from Tasmania and around the world, with an array of children’s entertainment, masterclasses, poetry and dance, as well as an assortment of food and beverage offering
Cygnet Folk Festival has been entertaining audiences for more than 40 years with its successful program of local and international music.
The festival’s 2025 theme is ‘Future Folk’, which is a nod to the encouragement the festival gives to young and emerging performers and the commitment to attracting younger audiences, but also to the future and longevity of the event.
Tasmanian Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan noted “The Tasmanian Government is pleased to announce the Cygnet Folk Festival has again received up to $100,000 to support delivery of the festival over three years from 2025 to 2027.
“The festival continues to provide a high return on government investment.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we’re investing in our tourism and events sector, which is exactly what the Cygnet Folk Festival is all about.”
