Craig Bellamy to share secrets of success

Rugby leagueâs 2009 premiership winning coach Craig Bellamy will share the secrets to his success as keynote speaker at a high-profile coach education conference in Brisbane next month.
Just one month after leading the Melbourne Storm to a history-making run of two premierships from four consecutive grand finals, Bellamy will offer conference attendees valuable insights into coaching and leadership in elite sport.
Bellamyâs presentation at the 2009 Evolution of the Athlete (EOA) Coach Education Conference is sure to be one of the main attractions at the three-day annual event, which is coordinated by UQ Sport and the University of Queenslandâs School of Human Movement Studies.
More than 250 coaches, trainers, sports administrators and sports scientists from across Australia will hear from leading authorities in coach training to help them develop and inspire athletes to greater achievements.
With 30 conference speakers from sporting fame, academia and business, the EOA Conference aims to benefit coaching professionals from any sport and any level from amateur to professional grade.
UQ Sportâs Manager of Sport Development and conference coordinator Vince Kelly says the EOA conference is unique due to its focus on helping attendees get the most out of athletesâ âhearts and minds?.
Kelly explains âat the conference some of Australiaâs best sporting minds will share their experience, knowledge and philosophies on coaching by focusing on mental toughness, leadership and coaching behaviours.
"This approach is fairly unique given that most coaching conferences tend to focus on technical skill development.
âThe EOA Conference is really the only multi-sport conference in the Australia Pacific region that focuses on the soft skills of coaching.?
Other keynote speakers joining Bellamy at the conference include West Coast Eagles High Performance Manager Glenn Stewart and Director of Tennis and Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley.
The 2009 Evolution of the Athlete Coach Education Conference will be held from 2nd to 4th November at the Sebel Citigate Hotel in Brisbane.
