Countdown to National Bicycling Achievement Awards
Programs to get more children riding to school and initiatives to improve communities around Australia are leading the nominations for this year's Australian Bicycling Achievement Awards.
The Cycling Promotion Fund is delighted with the strong interest in the awards, for which nominations close on 12th April.
As the Fundâs spokesperson Stephen Hodge explains, ânominations this year are strong and there is enormous interest from both regional and urban areas for programs that make it easier for people to get out of their cars and get into cycling.
âThese national Awards have played a key role since 2002 in promoting and acknowledging the most successful initiatives to encourage cycling around the country. Although this year looks like being the biggest yet we hope to receive further nominations from all States.
âWe urge schools, community organisations, workplaces and governments at all levels to submit a nomination for one of the Award categories.?
The Awards ceremony will be held in Canberra and attended by Award nominees, Members of Parliament and industry people from around the country. The date (in June), key note speaker and venue will be announced soon.
The Award Categories are:
⢠Cycling Promotion Award of the Year: Professional & Honorary categories;
