Cityfitness help XFactor band stay on top form

While competing on TV3's hit show The X Factor, New Zealand boy band Moorhouse have been exercising with gym chain, cityfitness.

Now the gym chain has agreed a sponsorship arrangement as a result of discussions between the band and Dean McConville, Club Manager at cityfitness' main Christchurch club on Moorhouse Avenue.

As McConville explains "given both the band and the club had the same name it seemed a likely partnership. We're looking forward to the boys returning to Christchurch where cityfitness on Moorhouse Avenue will be their home gym. "

Since entering the competition the band have been based in Auckland and have been able to make regular use of cityfitness' inner city club on Queen Street.

Moorhouse Band Manager Nate Phillips explains "gym memberships at cityfitness have helped the boys maintain a healthy lifestyle and it's encouraged them to look and feel their best when they're performing."

The band is made up of teenagers Jason Aileone, Brock Ashby, Marley Wilcox Nanai and Rory McKenna.

cityfitness is a New Zealand based, family owned company beginning with one club in Porirua in 2000 and has steadily grown to 21 clubs nationwide over the last 13 years.
