City of South Perth moves forward with aquatic facility plans
The City of South Perth has moves forward with its plans for its proposed Recreation and Aquatic Facility (RAF).
At a Special Council Meeting held on Monday 15th March, the Council approved the RAF Business Plan and authorised City Chief Executive Michael Bradford to sign the $20 million Federal Government grant funding for the project.
With the Business Plan is a statutory requirement of the Local Government Act 1995, the City is looking to work towards securing the remaining funding for the RAF project. It also formally acknowledges the City’s intention to enter into a ‘major land transaction’ and enables the City to build on Collier Park Golf Course.
Once the additional funding has been secured and the total budget for the project is known, Council will make further decisions regarding the budget and the design of the RAF.
To be located at Collier Park Golf Course, the proposed health, wellness, fitness, recreation and education facility, its integrated approach has been designed to ensure the RAF is a financially viable and self-sustainable proposition.
