Exhibition shows growth potential in Chinese fitness sector
The first-ever Asian Fitness Education Expo, held in Hong Kong on 29th and 30th March attracted 300 delegates from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Macau, India, Brazil and France.
The Asian Academy for Sports & Fitness Professionals (AASFP) also used the show to launch its 2007 China industry report, as well as the first-ever professional indemnity/public liability coverage program for fitness professionals in Asia, in conjunction with insurance broker Marsh.
The AASFP report highlights major growth in fitness clubs in Chinese cities, Shanghai having 256 clubs in 2007, up from 171 in 2006 while the number of clubs in Beijing also rose, from 353 to 390.
