Chinese Baseball League to be launched in August

The Chinese Baseball Association and QSL Sports Limited will launch a Chinese professional baseball league later this year, which the partners hope to expand into an Asia-wide league by taking in teams from Japan, Taiwan and Korea.

The deal is for six years, and has an extension option for further six years.

Kenny Huang, Owner of QSL Sports Limited and a China-born US financier and sports business entrepreneur, stated "I believe the partnership will bring forward transformational changes to the sport of baseball in China.

"In the coming six years, we aim to create an Asian baseball league between China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, most of whom have long been strong baseball league players on the world stage."

The league, which will launch in August, will begin in China, and has seven teams already lined up in the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Wuxi, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou and Chengdu.
