Ceiling repairs commence at Albury Entertainment Centre

Work to repair the ceiling of the Banquet Hall at the Albury Entertainment Centre has begun this week.

The Banquet Hall has been closed to the public since the partial collapse of the ceiling on 5th June.

Following an urgent request-for-quote process, Albury City Council has appointed a local panel contractor to remove and replace the ceiling.

The repair works are due for completion before the end of July 2024, allowing events to resume at the venue in August.

Albury Entertainment Centre Manager, Brendan Maher, has worked closely with affected hirers to source and secure alternative venues and minimise disruption as much as possible.

Welcoming repairs having commenced so quickly following the incident, Albury Mayor, Kylie King advised "once again, we’re incredibly grateful that no-one was injured as a result of the partial collapse of the ceiling, and it’s great to see that this important community asset will be back to normal operation very soon."
