Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall set to open in July

Construction work on Brisbane’s newest live music venue, The Fortitude Music Hall, is approaching completion, with the venue scheduled to open in late July.

Set to be the largest ballroom/theatre-styled space in Australia, the $43 million venue is creating a new entertainment space for Brisbane.

With a venue capacity of 3,300, the 312 Brunswick Street site spans 2,500 metre² and is the culmination and vision of Hutchinson Builders Chairman Scott Hutchinson, former Powderfinger member John Collins, and co-founder of Secret Sounds Paul Piticco.

In time it will deliver additional food and beverage venues and a function space, an important centrepiece of the masterplan to maintain Fortitude Valley’s position as a destination for local and international touring artists and an entertainment hub for locals.

Speaking at the Asia-Pacific Venue Industry Congress in Melbourne yesterday, Live Nation Australasia Chief Executive Roger Field said “with Brisbane always having had a local music scene, it is clear that a 2000-3500 capacity venue has been wanting.

“With the Music Hall located in an area of high footfall, and with flexibility and accessibility factored into its fitout, the venue already has a busy booking schedule.”
