Brisbane Showgrounds set for busy winter months
The Brisbane Showgrounds, Queensland’s biggest indoor and outdoor events precinct is set for a busy few months, with 34 events scheduled for May and the Ekka scheduled for August.
A series of national and local events featuring rugby league stars, politicians and financial experts will be staged across the Showgrounds and Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC).
Major events include the Labour Day Festival which is expected to attract more than 25,000, the Illumi Run, the Pool, Spa and Outdoor Living Expo, the Brisbane Model Train Show and the Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) Federal Budget Breakfast.
Royal ICC Venue, Sales and Marketing General Manager Sally Pulford expects May will be one of the busiest months for the Royal ICC since its opening in March 2013.
Pulford explains “we have 34 events occurring across 30 days and we are looking forward to providing our guests with five star service and award winning food and wine.
“We are delighted to welcome high profile guests including former Australian Prime Minister John Howard at the PwC Federal Budget Breakfast plus the who’s who of rugby league at the Queensland Rugby League Naming of the Team Lunch.”
Other events in May include national conferences - Austmine Association Conference and Exhibition and the AGOSCI 12th Biennial Conference, the ATSA Independent Living Expo and a number of black tie events including school formals and the UQ Faculty Balls.
The Ekka/Royal Queensland Show will be staged at the Brisbane Showgrounds from 7th to 16th August 2015.
