Bridgetown Swimming Pool among 25 Western Australian facilities to secure funding

The Western Australian Government’s latest round of Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and Club Night Lights Program (CNLP) small grants funding has been announced.

The small grants round, which funds projects for the sum of between $7,500 and $500,000, will support 25 community sport and recreation facilities in vital renovations, including upgrades to changing and playing facilities, and the upgrade or installation of venue lighting.

Twelve applications for funding through the CSRFF have been successful, as well as 13 through the CNLP.

Among the 25 community, sport and recreational facilities across WA to benefit from the latest round of small grant funding is Bridgetown Swimming Pool which secured $129,690 for the installation of a heat pump. The Bridgetown Leisure Centre, located in the South West region of Western Australia, offers an array of recreational and aquatic activities to improve personal and community health and wellbeing.

Some of the other projects to have secured funding in the latest small grants round of CSRFF and CNLP include:

  • the installation of a synthetic bowling green at the North Perth Bowling and Recreation Club - $95,983;

  • upgrades to floodlighting in Usher Park, Kalgoorlie - $200,000;

  • the installation of 100 lux LED floodlighting at Ranford Oval, Canning - $135,000; and

The funded projects amount to a total of more than $2 million, a significant investment in community sporting infrastructure across Western Australia.

This follows the announcement in 2023 that a further $15 million over two years had been allocated to the CSRFF, bringing the annual amount of available funding to $20 million per year, highlighting the WA Government's commitment to ensuring that high quality, sustainable and accessible community facilities are available across WA.

The program is administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. More information is available on the department's website at: www.dlgsc.wa.gov.au/funding/sport-and-recreation-funding/community-sporting-and-recreation-facilities-fund
