Boating industry salutes Darling Harbour partnership on its 25th anniversary
On the 25th anniversary of the Sydney International Boat Show at Darling Harbour, the support of Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) has been recognised by the Boating Industry Association, organisers of one of Sydney's most successful events.
With the current show being held from 1st to 5th August, Damian Jeacle, Executive Director, Place Management at Darling Harbour, has been recognised for the work he and the SHFA does in activating Darling Harbour to work in partnership with the industry and exhibitors to make the Sydney International Boat Show such a drawcard.
More than 70,000 people from Sydney and all over Australia attend the event each year at Darling Harbour.
Boating Industry Association, Manager of Marketing and Events, Domenic Genua acknowledged the strong relationship the Industry has with SHFA, stating "it is much more than a landlord and tenant partnership.
"The Foreshore Authority is part of the BIA family (and) we are looking forward to working together for many years to come."
During the three-year redevelopment and transformation of Darling Harbour, the BIA is working with Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority to maintain the BIAs marina exhibition at Cockle Bay. The indoor exhibition will move to the new Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island during this period.
In 2017, the indoor exhibition will return to the new International Convention Centre, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Sydney International Boat Show.
