Belgian Wave makes a splash

One of the highlights of the recent Asian Amusements Expo was the Wavesurfer artificial surfing wave from AFP Technology.
AFP Technology's Wavesurfer technology relies on water pumped upwards over a soft surface at adjustable speeds to create a wave suitable for all audiences.
Ideal for surfing and bodyboarding, the Wavesurfer is available in single, double and triple widths in both fixed and portable units.
AFP Technology's portable units are popular with events and exhibitions and the Belgian company backs a series of Wavesurfer events in Belgium, England, France, the Netherlands and Spain.
AFP Technology Director Karel Dubois explains "Wavesurfer is a unique aquatic attraction, for beginners as well as experienced surfers.
"Wavesurfer creates an artificial wave anyone can surf on and the intensity of the wave can be adjusted to various audiences.
"In our state-of-the-art production workshop, we only use advanced technology to make the entire Wavesurfer ourselves, from beginning to end. First, we use a 3D model to determine what the Wavesurfer is going to look like for a particular client. Then, the various parts are manufactured using the latest laser technology. Our team can also implement the entire assembly of the Wavesurfer at any location.
"Only clean energy is used in our production workshop: the entire roof is covered with solar panels to assure an environmentally friendly product."
AFP Technology is expected to announce distributors for the Wavesurfer in Asia, Australia and New Zealand in the near future. Until then they can be contacted on +32 51 545 904.
