Australian Swim Schools Association announces locations for 2017 and 2018 conferences
The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) has announced that its 2017 Conference will be staged in Darwin - at the Doubletree by Hilton on the Esplanade.
To be held from 21st to 23rd August next year, staging the event in Darwin is seen as a major break from the norm for swim schools, but ASSA Chief Executive Ross Gage explains “the ASSA Board factored in that this a relatively neglected part of the swimming world (with) highly affordable accommodation rates, unbeatable weather at that time of the year and many unique attractions.”
ASSA has already confirmed three leading industry presenters for the Conference: Sharron Crowley from Canada, Frank Sahlein from the USA and New Zealander Mark Saunders.
In 2018, the Conference 2018 will return to the Gold Coast, partnering, as ASSA did this year, with the Splash! Expo at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Commenting on this, Gage added “participants loved the opportunity to take in the Expo at no additional charge so repeating the 2016 format was a ‘no-brainer’.”
Gage added “ASSA will not be complacent though and will improve the Conference with additional funding secured to ensure the event has a special international flavour.”
ASSA’s 2018 Conference will run from 30th July to 3rd August.
