Australian National Maritime Museum unveils new venue to great demand

The Australian National Maritime Museum successfully launched its new waterfront venue, the Lighthouse Gallery, to key industry professionals at the recent Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME).

Australian National Maritime Museum team members Chris Nielsen and Deanna Varga together with Marika Mothersole, from Laissez Faire - the museum's catering partner, received a lot of enquiries about the newest addition to the museum's already strong venue portfolio.

With over 72 industry appointments held by the team across the two day tradeshow, and the steady flow of enquiries since, the museum's first-time attendance to the business event exhibition was a success.

Business Events Sydney Chief Executive Lyn Lewis-Smith was proud to see leading representatives from NSW's diverse and spectacular business event industry representing Sydney to the global business events world.

Lewis-Smith explained "unique properties, such as first-time exhibitor and BESydney member the Australian National Maritime Museum, are helping to demonstrate that Sydney is well and truly open for business.

"Their waterfront venue, the Lighthouse Gallery, is just one of many new event spaces making a splash on Sydney's dynamic business event scene in 2014.

"It's a great addition to our Darling Harbour meetings precinct that will also welcome the new ICC Sydney from late 2016."

The Lighthouse Gallery comes equipped with leading event technology and is supported by the museum's experienced Venues team and catering partners, Laissez-Faire, to deliver outstanding events. The addition of this new venue brings the museum's portfolio of venues to eight.

Bookings can be made now for events to be held from the beginning of April 2014.

For a complete event experience, the museum also offers opportunities to incorporate some of their world class exhibitions and vessels into event packages, offering an insight into Australia's maritime history and delivering memorable events for guests..
