Australian Masters Games returns to Canberra in 2025 with new General Manager
The Australian Masters Games returns to Canberra for its 20th edition in 2025 running from 18th – 25th October and expecting to attract 7,500 athletes from across Australia and internationally.
The Games are being held in Canberra for the first time in over two decades, where participants will be able to experience the sights and sounds of the city’s attractions.
Sporting bodies from across Canberra are currently being engaged regarding the inclusion of over 50 sports.
The Australian Masters Games has a new General Manager, Adam Drinkwell who brings a wealth of experience to the AMG team.
Drinkwell’s path to Canberra for the 20th Australian Masters Games has seen him previously deliver multi-sport massed participation events in Victoria including the Victorian Teachers’ Games and the Victorian Police & Emergency Services Games over the past six years He has extensive experience working at National and State Sporting Organisations, along with local community sport clubs in high performance, participation, operations and governance.
Drinkwell enthused “I am excited to be given the role of General Manager to oversee the delivery of the 20th Australian Masters Games in Canberra in October 2025. The 20th edition of the AMG sees our nation’s capital host the games for the first time in over 20 years and with an expected influx of thousands of interstate visitors to the ACT, it will be a celebration of what is Australia’s only truly national Masters event.”
The sports program for the 20th AMG in Canberra is currently under review. Further updates of the sporting program, registration dates and travel and tourism packages will appear via emails, on social media and the Australian Masters Games website.
