Aussie World opens new log flume ride
Sunshine Coast amusement park Aussie World has continued its investment in new attractions with the launch of a new log flume ride - The Plunge.
The first of its type on the Sunshine Coast, the new ride is a log flume ride takes guests up to two steep climbs and down two drop-offs. Riders climb aboard hollowed-out logs that are propelled by flowing water through a waterway before climbing upwards then plunging down free falling ramps and into a water splash.
Opened in time for the December holiday period, the ride offers an entertaining way to cool off on a hot Queensland day!
Aussie World General Manager David Thompson points out that The Plunge is the third new ride at Aussie World this year following the successful opening of Redback thrill ride and Giant Slide.
Thompson explains "these three new rides complete an expansion project that has cost more than two million dollars and has reinforced Aussie World as a major player in the tourism industry on the Sunshine Coast.
"This year, due to the park expansion, we have seen record numbers coming through our gates proving that Aussie World has an exceptional product and we will continue to remain affordable and offer extraordinary value for money."
