Aspire Zone to host Ramadan Sports Festival
Qatar's Aspire Zone Foundation will continue to provide healthy lifestyle activities during the holy month of Ramadan following the announcement today that it will host a Ramadan Sports Festival.
Participants will compete for fantastic prizes which will include the revolutionary Samsung Slate, iPads, iPods, weekend packages at The Torch Doha Hotel and meals at the Grand Heritage Hotel.
Aspire Logistics Director General Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud explained "Aspire Zone Foundation is delighted to announce the Ramadan Sports Festival. It is a great opportunity for the community to continue to lead a healthy lifestyle during the holy month of Ramadan.
"Last year we held a football tournament and were overwhelmed with the response from people wanting to be involved. We are happy to confirm that we have expanded our sports this year and in addition to a football tournament we will also be providing competitions for basketball, volleyball and squash."
The football tournament will take place on the outdoor pitches at Aspire Zone and the Outdoor Warm-Up Track facility. Basketball will take place inside the Aspire Dome while Volleyball and Squash will be played in the Ladies Sports Hall and Ladies Club. Registration details for all other sports will be announced soon.
The women's tournaments are being organised in conjunction with the Qatar Women's Sport Committee.
The Ramadan Sports Festival joins recent slew of activities such as the Aspire Zone Winter Aquathon, Doha Jam street basketball tournament and The Torch Staircase Run as community events being organised by Aspire Logistics.
