AsiaWorld-Expo establishes itself as a world-class entertainment venue
AsiaWorld-Expo, Asia's leading exhibition, convention and events venue, will be hosting a thrilling line-up of world-class entertainment and public shows in the months ahead, including high-profile concerts, breathtaking theatrical events, thrilling sports contests, and inspirational public exhibitions.
The announcement of this exceptional program of entertainment comes hot on the heels of the landmark âRiver of Wisdom â Animated Version of the Riverside Scene at Qing Ming Festivalâ exhibition, which smashed Hong Kongâs record for ticket sales at a single event and welcomed close to one million visitors to AsiaWorld-Expo. The overwhelming success of this exhibition has firmly established AsiaWorld-Expo as a venue of unparalleled capacity, flexibility and event-management expertise.
A range of permanently enhanced transportation links â including a direct service to AsiaWorld-Expo on all âA-routeâ Airport Buses, a new express bus service (X1 Route) from Tung Chung MTR Station, and special fares on the Airport Express â were also launched recently, which now put AsiaWorld-Expo within easy and affordable reach of all districts in Hong Kong.
AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited Chief Executive Allen Ha explains âthe new transportation links have won a thumbs up from the public and have drawn a huge number of visitors to AsiaWorld-Expo.
âTogether with the nearby attractions in Tung Chung, they further complement the venueâs many strengths, enabling visitors to combine attendance at AsiaWorld-Expo with outlet shopping and other activities.?
The venueâs track-record of successful events and its enhanced accessibility have led many more event organisers to choose AsiaWorld-Expo for their public shows. In the months ahead, the venue will welcome world-renowned performers including Eric Clapton (18th February 2011) and Taylor Swift (21st February 2011), as well as the spectacular theatrical event Walking with Dinosaurs from today (22nd December) to 2nd January 2011.
A highlight of the New Year is the long-awaited return of Faye Wong, who will perform live in March 2011.
AsiaWorld-Expo is a public-private partnership between the Hong Kong SAR Government (majority shareholder) and a private sector consortium formed by Dragages Hong Kong Limited and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited, with the Airport Authority Hong Kong contributing the land.
AsiaWorld-Expo offers over 70,000 metres2 of rental space. With 10 state-of-the-art ground-level and column-free exhibition and events halls including the 13,500-seat AsiaWorld-Arena, the biggest purpose-built indoor seated entertainment arena in Hong Kong as well as the AsiaWorld-Summit, Hong Kongâs newest and largest indoor conference and banquet venue that seats 700 to 5,000 persons, AsiaWorld-Expo is Asiaâs only column-free, ground-level exhibition and events venue â fully integrated with the Hong Kong International Airport.
