Asia's most rewarding trading platform for sporting goods returns

Details of this year's Sports Source Asia, a trade event for sports equipment, accessories and a wide range of sporting goods, have been announced.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and MMI Asia Pte Ltd (MMI), the fifth edition of Sports Source Asia will run from 27th to 29th October 2011 at AsiaWorld-Expo at Hong Kong International Airport.
Increasing awareness of fitness and health, together with the enthusiasm generated by last year's the Asian Games in Guangzhou, has created a higher demand for sporting goods in China.
Hong Kong's export of sporting goods reached US$4 billion in 2010. High growth was recorded in important markets such as the Chinese mainland and Japan, which registered increases of 14% and 8% respectively in the same period. Additionally, exports of sporting goods from Hong Kong to emerging markets such as India and Malaysia - up 32% and 13% respectively - have grown significantly.
In 2010 the event attracted in excess 200 exhibitors from and over 6,600 buyers from around the world. For 2011, Sports Source Asia has already attracted pavilions from the Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan. The Premium Zone, focal point of the fair, enables industry leaders marketing sporting brands and products in an upmarket environment. Since buyer traffic to this zone is high and the products here are given a privileged standing, this highlighted zone offers maximum exposure to sporting brands.
As in previous years, the 2011 fair will be offering its trade visitors a wide-ranging events program for networking, socialising and information. Various seminars on product trends and parades of sporting clothes and accessories will run throughout the fair period.
Sports Source Asia is jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI (a member of Messe Munich International). For over 30 years, HKTDC has been organising some of the largest and most professional trade fairs in the world. With its extensive network of offices and databases of commercial contacts around the world, HKTDC strives to create the best fairs that bring business opportunities to traders. ispo Group, MMI's division of sports and sports fashion shows, is supporting SSA with its strong connections in the sporting goods markets around the world and extensive experience in organising the International trade fairs for sports equipment and fashion in Munich and Chinese mainland for 40 years.
