Asia's Fastest-Growing Destination Marathon Laguna Phuket

Asia's fastest-growing destination marathon, the Laguna Phuket International Marathon, is to be held on 12th June 2011, with registrations set to open in October.

The Laguna Phuket International Marathon course takes in 'postcard' coastal Thailand along with a Thai village market, a rubber plantation, beach and sea views, as well as stretches along buffalo-plowed rice fields before finishing in the resort of Laguna Phuket in the northwest of the tropical island paradise.

Each step of the 42.195 km marathon course has been officially measured and is sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

At the 5th Laguna Phuket International Marathon in June this year, the eventâs biggest-ever field of attracted over 4,600 entrants.

Laguna Phuket is one of Asia's finest destination resorts made up of a collection of deluxe hotels and villas including Banyan Tree, Sheraton Grande, Dusit Thani, Laguna Beach Resort, Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort & Villas, Best Western Allamanda Laguna Phuket and Laguna Holiday Club Resort.

The destination is currently running its 'Summer Family Festival' (from now until the end of October) offering an array of free activities, meals and accommodation for children.

Activities include speedboat tours, evening 'Kidz Lounges', rounds of golf for the whole family, rock climbing and much more.

With official Laguna Summer Family Festival activities children staying at Laguna hotels can also participate in a range of team building exercises, rock climbing and adventure programs run by Quest Laguna Phuket Adventure.
