Art Gallery website wins international award
The Dunedin Public Art Gallery's website has won a website design category at the Museums Australia Multimedia & Publication Design Awards (MAPDA).
In addition to this win, the Gallery was also highly commended for the invitation design to the exhibition Sound Full.
Dunedin Public Art Gallery Graphic Designer Karina McLeod was "delighted" at the news with Commercial Development Manager Tim Pollock adding "I'm very pleased that the Dunedin Public Art Gallery's excellence in design both graphic and digital has been recognised and celebrated on the international stage.
"These highly competitive design awards are open to all galleries and museums from New Zealand and Australia, and this win in the web design section against some major institutions with impressive budgets to commit to their projects, is a significant achievement and one that the Gallery can be very proud of."
The Gallery has a history of high achievements at the MAPDA awards.
In 2012, the Gallery won the Exhibition Excellence category with Still Life: The Art of Anatomy
In 2011, the Gallery won the Exhibition Catalogue category for Wayne Barrar: An Expanding Subterra and the Calendar and Information Brochure category for three issues of LOG.
In 2010, the Gallery won the Exhibition Catalogue category for Beloved: Works from the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and the Invitation category for the same exhibition.
The awards were announced at the recent Museums Australia National Conference in Canberra.
