The newest destination follows expansion to Spain (2011), Brazil (2013), Australia (March 2015) and South Africa (May 2016) for the event founded in Columbus in 1989 by the world famous bodybuilder and actor and businessman Jim Lorimer.
In a press release, Lorimer explained “the Arnold Sports Festival is proud to continue its world-wide growth.
“The addition of Arnold Classic Asia will put the Arnold Classic on six continents in 2016 and will be the latest step in Arnold’s world-wide fitness crusade.”

While the US event has expanded to feature competitions in gymnastics, all-star cheerleading, dance, fencing, table tennis, yoga, martial arts, strongman, archery, wrestling, powerlifting, and other sports, while the Arnold Strongman Classic remains one of the highest profile events on the strongman calendar.
