App-solute first for Australia's Theme Parks

In an Australian first for amusement parks, Jamberoo Action Park is going mobile, with the launch of Australia's first ever theme park application.

Guests visiting the NSW attraction will now find it even easier to control the action, with access to ticketing and Park information - straight from their smartphone.

Jamberoo Action Park General Manager Dax Eddy explains "a huge percentage of Australians rely on information available through smartphone apps and now people will have all of Jamberoo Action Park's information at their fingertips.

"We are excited to be the first to bring a smartphone app to the Australian Amusement Park market".

Available free through the App Store SM, the new Jamberoo Action Park App contains a variety of useful features and information to help guests plan their visit to the Park including:

• E-ticketing for quick purchasing and priority entry.
• An interactive park map, which scrolls around all the facilities available across the 40 hectares of the Park.
• Ride information and images.
• Connections to Jamberoo Action Park's social media sites including Facebook and Twitter.
• General information including opening hours, location, contact details and directions.

With more exciting developments to come, Jamberoo Action Park will continue to increase its digital presence, with Eddy advising "by 2015, 62% of all mobile phones purchased are tipped to be smart phones. In fact, over 600,000 were sold in July 2011 alone!

"So this is a great time for us to move into the mobile space with the Jamberoo Action Park smartphone app, with more exciting features and enhancements to come soon."

The app forms part of Jamberoo Action Park's digital strategy which also includes the attraction's website and major investment it is own ticketing system. Development of the app has also been highly cost-effective with Eddy explaining that apps cost about 1/3 of the price of a mobile website and performing five times faster.

The attraction is also expecting its planning appeal on development restrictions to be resolved early next year, enabling its planned $25 expansion to begin construction.
