AFL Grad Program looks to recruit third intake of talent in 2026

The AFL Grad Program aims to attract a high calibre of graduates from across Australia with diverse backgrounds and skills, providing them with an entry point and career pathway into the industry.

The AFL Grad Program returns in 2026, seeking to recruit a third intake of talent in 2026.

Following the overwhelming success of the league’s first instalment of the program in 2024, a new cohort of ten successful graduates have this year commenced in roles across the AFL business for a year-long industry learning and development experience.

The program sees successful graduates immersed in the AFL’s high performing culture, taking ownership of purpose driven and meaningful projects, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and learning from industry leaders.

To bolster their knowledge and connection across the AFL industry, graduates are also provided opportunities to participate in activities across the AFL and within AFL Club environments, supporting their development and leadership potential.

AFL Executive General Manager People, Sarah Fair said the league is pleased to continue to provide an innovative and best-in-class program that provides a unique pathway for the future leaders of the industry.

Fair noted “the AFL is extremely proud of its Grad Program, it’s been a driving factor in supporting and nurturing the next generation of talent in our business and across the industry.

“The development-rich AFL Grad Program demonstrates that you don’t need to follow football or play our game to be successful in our industry.

“Our organisation attracts incredible talent, and we are deeply committed to supporting our people’s professional and personal development, enabling them to excel and thrive at work and in life.

“Through initiatives such as the Grad Program we actively seek applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences to support our vision for everyone to connect with and love Australia’s game.”

AFL Career Development Lead, Brit Wood said the AFL is excited to see the launch of the 2026 recruitment campaign adding “with overwhelming interest in the AFL Grad Program since its inception in 2024, we look forward to welcoming applications for our 2026 program and growing a strong Alumni Network into the future.”

Applications for the 2026 AFL Grad Program are now open, with a closing date set for Sunday 29th June.
