AEG Ogden welcomes Gudinski and Chugg to its global family

Major Australasian venue management company AEG Ogden has welcomed the news that its US partner, AEG Presents has entered into a joint venture with Michael Gudinski’s Frontier Touring Company.

AEG Ogden Chairman and Chief Executive, Harvey Lister congratulated Gudinski and Frontier Touring on establishing a formal relationship with its US-based partner, saying he expects it will see an even greater level of concert content touring Australasian markets.

Lister said the agreement would cover the recent arrangement in which Frontier joined forces with Michael Chugg as co-promoters on all Chugg Entertainment tours, as well as the existing joint venture with Matt Gudinski’s Illusive Presents.

Commenting on the joint venture, Lister stated “this deal reinforces the importance of the Australia/New Zealand touring market in the international concert touring circuit.

“We started in the business at about the same time as the two Michaels, and enjoy a 45-year-long, positive working relationship with them. In that time, we have worked together on hosting in our venues many of the 1,000 plus tours they have presented.

“Michael Gudinski and his terrific marketing team have exceptional experience in the touring concert business in Australia and New Zealand. The combination of Frontier with Michael Chugg’s Sydney-based power team provided an attractive opportunity for AEG to further establish a presence in this market and invest for the long term.

“Over the years, we at AEG Ogden have evolved a number of industry initiatives with Mr. Gudinski, Mr. Chugg and certain other responsible promoters in this market. We also shared similar strong positions with Frontier and Chugg Management on a number of industry issues including a Fan First approach to ensure tickets get to the people who want to enjoy the events we present, and to fight back against scalping and fraudulent ticketing practices.

“We are delighted that they are now part of the AEG Global Family and look forward to working even more closely with them in future.”
