Adventure Park Geelong opens for another 'supercharged summer'

Adventure Park Geelong has opened its gates for what it calls "another supercharged summer", launching two new rides for the 2012/13 season and having completed the full restoration of its Grand Carousel.

Located just 10 minutes from Geelong, Adventure Park is Victoria's biggest and most exciting theme and water park.

For the 2012/12 season, Adventure Park offers:

• The Wave Swinger
A new family thrill ride, the Wave Swinger reaches speeds of up to 30 kilometres per hour as riders hit a peak of over six metres as the tower reaches its full height.

• Cruise Barracuda Bay
The new Barracuda water bikes are launched of a white sandy beach and see riders race their friends across Barracuda Bay, achieving speeds of up to 10km/ph.

• Fully restored Grand Carousel
Adventure Park's 1920's style Grand Carousel has been intricately restored, featuring thirty original handcrafted jumping horses and two swans. A classic ride for park visitors of all ages.

Along with a huge selection of water rides and experiences:

• Rafting the roaring rapids on The River Torrent Lazy River, with twisting tides and swirling gauntlets along a tropical river oasis;
• Speeding down head first and experiencing the ultimate adrenaline rush of the Six Lane Aqua Racer, a speed slide for the serious thrill-seekers which can take you up to 40km /ph;
• Racing down The Gold Rush Rapids in a speedy 20 seconds and taking the two metre plunge;
• Taking a splash in the dark on the Wild West Canyon on a two-seater raft, experiencing twists and 360 degree turns;
• The Tiny Tots Splashzone featuring waterfalls, mini waterslides and spray cannons, which will keep young ones cool and entertained in a safe environment;
• Bonito's Bay Water Play - a state-of-the-art aquatic playground including waterfalls, water jets and more pirate-filled water fun.
• Go Karts and Electric Cars, archery, the Galactic Games World and Mini Golf.
