Adelaide Oval turf team to maintain playing surfaces at local grounds and schools

The team behind Adelaide Oval’s playing surface has revealed a new partnership that will see it prepare and maintain grounds on the city's Fitzroy Terrace as well as Padnipadninya Tapa and Lewis Oval at Blackfriars.

The Oval’s grounds team, through its Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions consulting arm, will prepare spaces are used by the Blackfriars Priory School’s AFL, cricket and football teams, as well as the Blackfriars Old Scholars Football Club.

Starting this October, St Dominic’s will also be the home ground of the Catholic college's Old Scholars Cricket Club’s newly formed Adelaide Turf Cricket side.

Jonathon Trenorden, Operations Manager at Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions, explained "this partnership brings a level of attention to detail, knowledge and passion for turf management that is synonymous with Adelaide Oval.

“The same principles and practices that go into preparing elite-level stadiums will be implemented at Blackfriars, including the old scholars pitch, ensuring consistently high-quality surfaces under all conditions.”

The Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions team is closely integrated with Adelaide Oval and includes some of the most skilled turf professionals in the country.

Its collective experience spans leading Australian stadiums including Perth’s Optus Stadium, North Sydney Oval, Darwin’s TIO Stadium, GMHBA Stadium, Norwood Oval and Prospect Oval. Its expertise also extends internationally, with past work at iconic venues such as Lords, Wimbledon and the ICC T20 World Cup in the United States.

Trenorden noted "we bring a wealth of knowledge to this partnership.

“That means recognising issues before they become problems, communicating clearly and delivering results.
