Adelaide Hills Council reopens playgrounds and recreation facilities
Adelaide Hills Council has reopened Lions Park at Bridgewater and Steamroller Park in Stirling with Council advising that over 30 other facilities are expected to be open before the end of the week.
Adelaide Hills Mayor, Jan-Claire Wisdom announced the reopening of the playgrounds advising “we know that they are valued by our community, especially given the current restrictions on social activity under COVID-19 as they provide a destination for families to enjoy outdoor activity together and for children to burn off some extra energy in a healthy way.”
Safety checks are being undertaken at each site and signage developed reminding people of the SA Health guidelines around 1.5 metre social distancing and groups being limited to no more than 10 people.
Council also encourages people to consider their personal hygiene practices and responsibilities when using Council facilities as they would when out in any public space.
Councils across the state are currently collaborating with the LGA and health authorities regarding any additional precautions that may be recommended.
