Abel Sports supply goalposts for AFL’s Shanghai adventure

Behind the scenes of the AFL’s Gold Coast Suns vs Port Adelaide game in Shanghai on 14th May, Australian technology and innovation helped equip the Jingwan Stadium.

The fixture took on some interesting significance for Victorian-based goal post supplier Abel Sports, who having supplied the official goal posts for the original AFL match in China in 2010, saw the Round 8 AFL Premiership clash use the same posts.

Abel Sports have a long history of supplying AFL posts, with Business Development Manager Shane Parton acknowledging the pride the company feels in supplying the goal posts.

Parton stated “it was great that Australian made goal posts are being used for what was an historic match.”

Established in 1992 Abel Sports is celebrating its 25th year and has evolved from manufacturing and supplying a range of flags and flagpole products to a diverse supplier of quality sporting ground equipment, including goal posts, storage equipment systems, and coaches boxes.
