With Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews on Monday having announced an easing of Coronavirus restrictions on a range of business activities, gyms across the state have been advised that, as of 11.59pm on 8th November, they will be allowed to reopen.
However, facilities will have to operate with strict Coronavirus requirements in place with up to 20 people will be allowed in a facility at any given time, with up to 10 people per individual space.
Australasian Leisure Management also understands that a COVIDSafe marshal will also have to be in place for gyms and fitness studios in Melbourne.
Premier Andrews has also reported as saying he will engage with the fitness industry ahead of the 9th November reopening, comments welcomed by peak body Fitness Australia.
New released data from Fitness Australia shows the chance of being infected in a fitness facility is just 0.00008%.
