$3.64 million Manor Lakes Reserve for new suburb's new sports teams

Manor Lakes Reserve sports precinct has been opened in the new outer Melbourne suburb of Wyndham Vale.

Dubbed a regional 'sports hub', the new facility was opened yesterday (Thursday 13th February) by Victorian Minister for Sport and Recreation Hugh Delahunty along with members from the local community and the recently established tenant clubs Manor Lakes Football Club and Manor Lakes Cricket Club.

Welcoming the new facility, Minister Delahunty explained "the Wyndham area is Victoria's fastest growing municipality and facility provides a home for newly established clubs to cater for the growing number of community members looking to get involved in a range of sports.

"That's a key objective of the Victorian ... Government, to invest in quality local infrastructure that encourages local people to play the sports they love for many years to come and build a better Victoria.

"That's why it's great to see local sports clubs forming in growth areas around facilities like these, bringing health and social benefits. Manor Lakes Football Club must also be congratulated for establishing with both female and male teams, meaning this new facility will cater for both female and male participation."

The Reserve features a full sized football/cricket oval complete with lighting, parking areas, and a pavilion with four change rooms for males and females, accessible amenities, first aid room, referee room, public toilets, kitchen, kiosk, community space, social area, and increased storage space.

The Victorian Government backed Wyndham City Council's $3.142 million input with a $500,000 contribution.
