2023 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards recognise and reward excellence
Western Australian tourism operators have been recognised at the recently held 2023 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, presented by Tourism Council Western Australia.
This annual awards program has been recognising and rewarding business excellence, innovation and professionalism in the Western Australian tourism industry for more than 50 years.
This year marks the 51st Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards, which provide an important opportunity to celebrate the people and products that help the industry continue to thrive and which connect visitors with the State’s unique tourism experiences. The awards also play a vital role in providing a benchmark by which many operators measure their success.
Ngurrangga Tours – a fully Aboriginal-owned tour operator delivering cultural tourism experiences within the Pilbara region - was recognised most outstanding tourism operator receiving the Sir David Brand Award for Tourism.
Willie Creek Pearls, Live Ningaloo, CORE Cider House, Tree Chalets, and City of Fremantle were awarded Hall of Fame - for winning the gold medal in their categories three years in a row.
The new category recognising operators for excellence in accessible tourism was awarded to Off The Beaten Track WA.
WA Museum Boola Bardip secured the top award for Major Tourist Attractions. Through captivating local and international exhibitions, interactive displays, diverse programs and events, the Museum attracted more than 455,000 visitors last financial year, contributing significantly to the State’s economy. Globally recognised, WA Museum Boola Bardip embodies the essence of a world-class museum and tourist attraction.
The Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards recognise tourism operators across 27 categories for their commitment to excellence, providing them with an opportunity to raise their profile among the industry and visitors.
WA Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti shared "On behalf of the Western Australian Government, I sincerely congratulate all the winners and finalists at the 2023 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards.
"This event reflects the excellence of Western Australian tourism operators, and celebrates our friendly, world-class Western Australian hospitality.
"WA is a unique tourism destination, offering visitors incredible landscapes and world-class experiences and activities, however, it is the people behind the experiences that help the industry continue to thrive and elevate our State as an aspirational destination to visit."
Winners in selected categories will go on to represent Western Australia at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, which will be held in Darwin next year.
