2013 Melbourne Royal Show details released

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has released details of the 2013 Melbourne Royal Show, to be held over 12 days from at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

Presented annually by the RASV to promote and celebrate agriculture, the Melbourne Royal Show is Victoria's largest annual community, providing visitors with a range of unique and memorable experiences that are entertaining, interactive and educational.

From Sunday 21st September to Wednesday 2nd October, the Show will feature Victoria's largest display of animals up close with hundreds of beef cattle, sheep, goats and horses, along with thousands of dogs, presented in competitions to win a prestigious blue ribbon.

There are also hundreds of animals in the family favourite Animal Nursery to cuddle and feed, including calves, lambs, kids and chicks.

Announcing details of the 2013 Show, an RASV spokesperson added "food lovers can sample award-winning local produce and learn cooking tips from some of Victoria's top chefs in the Taste of Victoria Pavilion or visit the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Deli and take home a selection of gourmet treats.

"(Visitors can also) be inspired by the talents showcased in the Art, Craft and Cookery Pavilion, including everything from prize-winning cakes and baked goods to award-winning art and photography."

The 2013 Melbourne Royal Show will also feature an array of live entertainment, carnival rides, showbags and spectacular nightly fireworks.
