2013 Linton Kerber Memorial Award goes to Colac Otway Recreation Coordinator
Jodie Fincham, Recreation and Events Coordinator at Colac Otway Shire in Victoria, has been awarded the 2013 Linton Kerber Memorial Award.
The award is presented to the highest achieving student undertaking the Diploma of Management, (Recreation Planning), offered jointly by RTO National Business Institute of Australia and HM Leisure Planning Pty Ltd.
The late Linton Kerber, then a senior officer with Sport and Recreation Tasmania, was instrumental in having the Diploma course established in 2006 as a way of providing training for Tasmanian Department employees who had not had the benefit of formal training in recreation planning. Sport and Recreation Tasmania also offers an annual training scholarship in memory of Linton, with two recipients undertaking the 2014 Diploma course.
The 2013 award was presented to Jodie Fincham by Linton Kerber's father, Werner, and his son, Jade. Course graduation certificates were presented by Peter Drapac, Chief Executive ot the National Business Institute of Australia.
Course convenor, Dr Ken Marriott of HM Leisure Planning Pty Ltd, said that Jodie Fincham had demonstrated a high level of commitment to the course, had been an active class member and had prepared excellent assignments based on her work and position in Colac Otway Shire.
