2011 Fitness Australia Benchmarking Survey

Fitness Australia in conjunction with the University of South Australia will be beginning data collection via a survey for an ongoing benchmarking exercise on the fitness industry in Australia.
With industry operators set to be invited to participate in the benchmarketing survey on Friday 4th March, the idea of the benchmarking exercise is to provide timely and relevant information to fitness centre managers that will improve their decision-making, and allow them to see how they compare to benchmarks of similar centres, or across a period of time.
By participating in this exercise, fitness operators will help the industry to improve its service to customers as well as helping the industry to gain a greater insight into their operations compared to similar centres. This can help fitness operators, and other industry members, target their management actions more effectively.
Selected fitness operators will receive a detailed email explaining the survey and with a link to the online survey for completion.
Fitness Austalia encourages all its members to participate in the survey, which is being conducted by the University of South Australia through the Centre for Tourism and Leisure Management.
Industry benchmarking is commonplace in most industries, and is considered critical to the successful operation of a business, and vital to the continued development and improvement of the fitness industry.
