200,000 New Zealanders visit Wonders of the World
The Wonders of the World LEGO exhibition being toured by Te Papa, the national museum of New Zealand, across the country has smashed through a 200,000 attendance mark after a hugely popular opening 11 days at the ASB Baypark Stadium Lounge in Tauranga.
The stunning attendance figures are expected to climb further with another week and half of school holidays ahead.
The Wonders of the World LEGO® exhibition, promoted by TEG Live, has visited Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland before moving to Tauranga.
The amazing exhibition creates scale replicas of global landmarks, including the Empire State Building, Arc De Triomphe and Big Ben. The Wonders of the World provides a fully interactive, educational experience and is renowned for capturing the imagination of visitors, young and old.
TEG Chief Execuitve Geoff Jones said he is no longer surprised by the popularity of LEGO® and the way new generations are enchanted by the magic of its creations, explaining “there is no doubt that LEGO is a phenomenon that inspires fascination and joy in equal measure.
“When we say it is a fabulous family experience we mean everyone from the grandparents to the toddlers.
“That has been reflected in the huge diversity of the 200,000 people who have come to the exhibition across New Zealand. I congratulate all involved at TEG Live, Te Papa and the venues that have played host.”
The current season ends on Sunday 22nd July.
