Following the success of past editions of the World Conference on Drowning Prevention, the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) has named Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt as the location of the 2025 ILS World Conference on Drowning Prevention.

The Conference will bring together professionals, decision-makers and experts from all over the world to elaborate common standards and approaches to lower risks and protect human lives from drowning.

The Conference organisers plan to have at least 60 countries present, from which at least 30 will be from the African Continent. We plan to stimulate the interest in drowning prevention and lifesaving in these countries and may spark interest in establishing lifesaving organisations in these countries.

Co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), #WCDP2025 will bring together the world's leading drowning experts in research, education and action to find the best approaches, techniques and quality technologies to reduce the global drowning burden.
